Thanks for visiting!

Short Story:
Hi, I'm. Chadd. I am a sax technician, player, school band teacher. I got into selling horns because kids would come to class after paying too much for a cheaply made ‘instrument’ that was really in need of repair to work properly anyway. So I decided to offer ONLY trusted brands in good-to-perfect working order so that you don’t have to go pay out for unknown repairs.
***Appointment Only***

***I'm sorry. I'm not a "Music Store". I do not stock reeds and accessories. It's for your cost and mine that I keep things simple.

Expanded Story:
Only Saxophones was officially created in 2010 with the goal to provide quality saxes at worthwhile prices--ranging from student models to intermediate and vintage/modern pro models.
I've been playing the saxophone since elementary school and now teach Band in the Arlington School District at Stillaguamish Valley Home School.  I repairing horns on the side since 2008 when I got my start under Steve "Sarge" Stransky of WorldwideSax.com (a vintage Pro Saxophone shop with a world market), which is now what consumes most of my time--"the shop"--as I am now the owner of that too.   Check it out for cool saxes, vintage sound files and great info.  Vintage saxes are quite valuable; what did the Jazz Legends play on anyway?   Personally, my specialty is restoring those vintage saxes but any modern one is easy to repair too.
I now spend my days split between teaching at the school and WorldwideSax which leaves most of my lessons for the summer months when there's time.  I owe my start to Sarge and it's been fun every step of the journey.  I have started to reserve every-other weekend for appointments. Saxophones that go un-played usually like a small adjustment after several weeks of sitting. So because of that, I ask that we plan out your requested visit so I can have time to prepare.
Whether you're looking for your child's first starter sax or you're looking to step up to a modern pro or vintage era horn, there are more factors to consider than you probably want to worry about.  That's why Only Saxophones was created. I'm here to help you find the right sax for you. We'll take all the important aspects: price(which usually starts the search), but also quality, tone, reliability, intonation, ergonomics...etc.
To be honest and just put it out there... the best use of your money for a good, all-round, starter sax that I've inspected and put into great playing condition will usually be priced $400-550.   I don't mean to push any family away if that seems like a lot so please contact me and we can sort it out. I have that guilty teacher side that always wants all kids to get the chance to play music.

Step up with a good mouthpiece!
Another important aspect to the saxophone is the mouthpiece. If your 4th-6th year player has not upgraded yet, it is time.  A good mouthpiece will improve tone, the playability of the entire saxophone and control 70% of the players sound. So mom & dad, a mouthpiece is the most bang for your buck!  ...and with care, they never really wear out.  I got my first 'nice' mouthpiece in 11th grade and my skills/love for music took off.   I wish I went and got it earlier ...seriously!

My saxes get repaired as necessary and I always disclose what work has been done in their descriptions.  Sometimes I will go through and do "PC" (playing condition) repairs. Most all of the Vintage Pro horns will get my Full Rebuilds with Prestini high-end sheepskin pads and ALL new corks and felts. I even do a lot of dent work, as necessary, and do my best to restore horns.  Full Rebuilds are up to my standards of Worldwide Sax and will be priced accordingly (+$750).  I can also do custom rebuild options on your personal saxes too--See the WorldwideSax Rebuilds Page for details.  But due to being so busy, there's always a waiting list and the best way to get in line with your sax or one of mine is a 50% deposit to put the sax in Line for work to get finished. There is usually a 2 month wait.
I hope this helps you get started. Remember, I'm here to help. Please email me with any further questions.

Thanks,
Chadd
